The World Day for Consecrated Life is an annual Catholic celebration on February 2nd, tied to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas), instituted by Pope St. John Paul II in 1997 to recognize and pray for those who live consecrated lives (priests, religious sisters, brothers, etc.). It’s a day for the entire Church to appreciate their witness, for consecrated individuals to renew their commitment, and to encourage vocations by reflecting Christ’s light to the world.
